Australian Public Service data capability framework

The Australian Public Service Data Capability Framework (APS DCF) is a guide to help public sector workers build the data skills they need to create useful insights, make better decisions, and drive innovation. This framework supports public sector agencies in building a strong data culture that aligns with Queensland Government priorities.

Using the framework in Queensland public sector

Data plays a big role in delivering better services, creating policies and driving innovation. The Data Capability Framework ensures our workforce can:

  • optimise data use: strengthen evidence-based policy development and program delivery
  • build confidence with data: support staff in making better decisions through improved insights and analysis
  • advance digital transformation goals: complement other digital capability initiatives for a cohesive workforce strategy
