6. Building-related issues
The Department of Housing and Public Works (HPW) is responsible for the asset management of the government-owned office buildings that it controls. These buildings are managed and maintained in accordance with applicable legislation and asset management best practice. The responsibility for the management and maintenance of 'major leased' buildings varies according to the lease conditions.
Building-related issues in HPW owned buildings should be referred to:
- The Building Services Coordinator (BSC), if located in the building; or
- the QBuild Maintenance Response Centre (MRC); and
- the QGAO Property Manager where the issue is impacting agency operations.
Building-related issues in ‘major leased’ buildings should be referred to:
- The Building Services Coordinator (BSC), if located in the building; and
- The relevant QGAO Lease Manager.
For 'other leased' buildings, landlords and/or their agents are responsible for building management functions and certain maintenance, subject to the lease terms. Any enquiries or fault reporting for these buildings should be referred to the relevant QGAO lease manager, who will liaise with the landlord and/or agent.
