The Social Services (Procurement) Category Council (SSCC) governs the category strategy for the social services spend profile across Queensland Government which is aimed at improving cross-agency and sector collaboration and procurement and contract management practice while delivering value for money outcomes.

Decision making authority

The SSCC relies on the cooperation and agreement of member agencies, and does not have authority to make decisions that commit or direct the use of agency resources.

Decisions that require the direction and commitment of resources are referred to member agencies for authorisation.

Industry reference group/approach

The inaugural meeting of the Social Services Category Industry Reference Group occurred 7 February 2022, and it is proposed to meet quarterly with dates to be confirmed.
