Gender equity in the workplace
The Queensland Government is committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve.
Our focus is to:
- increase representation and support for women at all levels, especially in leadership roles
- address equity and diversity issues
- show our commitment to gender equality and safe workplaces for everyone.
Under the Public Sector Act 2022, chief executives must promote equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
Agencies use equity and diversity audits to better understand their workforce data. This helps them set priorities and plan future action. Agencies also publish strategies or action plans to show how they will improve local outcomes.
