Building leadership confidence in yourself and others

Learning how to become a better leader isn't about knowing everything, it's about understanding how to bring out the best in your team.

Learning how to become a better leader is not about knowing everything, it can also be about understanding how to bring out the best in yourself. When you invest in yourself – your team will naturally benefit.

Here are 6 tips to becoming a better leader:

  1. Back yourself, be courageous and take opportunities – every experience is an opportunity to learn something new, so take every chance to add to your leadership toolkit.
  2. Find balance – in a fast-paced world it is easy to get caught up and forget what is important. Take a breath, take care of yourself, and remember what your “why” is.
  3. Grow into leadership – leaders are best developed when nurtured well, so learn from those around you and lean on mentors for guidance.
  4. Work with your strengths – leaders do not need to know everything. They need to know how to inspire, gather information, mobilise people, skills, and talents to get the right outcome.
  5. Value your networks – you never know when you will need them. Good leaders inspire their people to succeed. Surround yourself with people who share similar values and who have your back.
  6. Enjoy what you do!
