QGEA Reference Group

The Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) Reference group plays a key role in the effective development and governance of the QGEA to ensure it remains a valued resource for our agencies.

The group consists of official nominees and a broader community who support the development and review of whole-of-government digital and ICT policy and guidance through providing and coordinating advice.

QGEA Reference group roles and responsibilities

The reference group’s role is to:

  • provide expert advice on proposed whole-of-government QGEA documents, both mandated and guidance
  • review and promote new digital and ICT policy and best practice with whole-of-government application
  • advise on possible implementation impacts of QGEA documents
  • ensure that agency CIOs and key personnel within their agency are briefed on QGEA documents in the policy cycle and emerging ICT issues
  • support the sharing and leveraging of department policy, policy tools and best practices for whole-of-government application
  • contribute to the ongoing development of the QGEA as a business tool for the Queensland Government.

The group and its members’ primary responsibilities are to:

  • ensure their CIO and key personnel within their agency are briefed
  • contribute digital and ICT policy expertise and advice
  • provide a central coordination point for agency subject matter experts to distribute and collate feedback during QGEA consultation
  • source expertise or information that provides an informed agency view on matters impacting whole-of-government ICT and the QGEA if required
  • act as champions for enterprise architecture and in particular whole-of-government enterprise architecture directions within their agency
  • raise enterprise architecture related issues that may impact the government enterprise architecture.

A monthly information session is held on the third Thursday of the month, from 9:00am to 9:45am. All QGEA Reference group community members are welcome to attend. The meeting is run virtually via the QGEA Reference Group on Microsoft Teams.
