Procurement and contract management: Technical skills induction program
For employees new to Queensland Government procurement and/or contract management roles.
Background
Onboarding is a long-term commitment to ensure a new employee within an organisation has the tools, resources and support to perform in their role. Onboarding starts when the employee first accepts their role in the organisation/team and continues for approximately 3-6 months until the employee is fully integrated into the work environment.
For those who are new to the context of Queensland Government Procurement, it is important to:
- Understand the strategic approach to procurement that has been adopted by the Queensland Government
- become familiar with the principles in the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP)
- understand the procurement lifecycle
- understand the Queensland Government Contract Management Framework
- understand what a healthy supplier relationship looks like.
The table below proposes an approach to build the necessary foundations for a new employee who:
- Takes on an entry level role in procurement and/or contract management
