A Message from the Premier

National Press Club Speech

Hi everyone.

Today, I'm addressing the National Press Club in Canberra and I just wanted to give you an insight into what I'm speaking about and the work of the public service that has enabled what is a landmark speech to be able to be delivered.

Firstly, I'm talking about the improvement in some of the social services in the state and the efforts that all of you have collectively made when it comes to dealing with the health challenges that we've experienced.

And we've seen some really good data in recent times around elective surgery and those ambulance waiting lists.

Talking about victim of crime numbers coming down, the work that we've done in partnership with councils to deliver more land for housing.

But I really want to talk about the future and it's a great opportunity to talk about the work that we are doing in the critical minerals space.

Trying to be global leaders in things like attracting the Quad here to Queensland, a really big focus on business relocation and of course, the work that collectively we're all doing to get ready for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

There's a real buzz at the moment in the state, and it's an opportunity for me to go to Canberra and show that we're open for business and that this really is a great place to invest or even to live.

And everything we're doing is about focusing on that real sense of buzz at the moment and I want to thank you all for the efforts that you've played to get us to this point and let's keep going into the future.
