A message from the Premier

Today we deliver our 2025-26 Queensland Budget, the foundation for a fresh start and a plan to deal with the big crises facing Queensland.

Through the Budget, we’re focused on making our community safer, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, driving down cost of living pressures for families, delivering more free healthcare than ever before and building generational infrastructure.

Thank you for your continued hard work and for your help delivering for Queenslanders.

It's Queensland budget day, and I just want to thank all of the public service for your work in putting it together. Now, the job of delivering it and to every one of you, thanks for the role that you play in serving our Queensland community.

Obviously the budget will focus on the things we said that we would do, and I talk about things like law and order, education, health and delivering the infrastructure that our growing state needs.

But there's some other things that are deeply important to me, and we'll be filling in this year's budget. One is that security for the public service to make sure that you can do your job and you're properly resourced.

The other is a graduate program and we're having 100 graduates, which is being organised through the Department of Premiers. And it's important that we do that to identify those future leaders. So, if there are people who you believe could benefit from that, please refer them to it.

We are determined to create the best public service in the nation. And it's important because as a state we're on the cusp of something really special and we have to deliver infrastructure, we have to deliver world class services. And that only comes with a world class public service.

So, thanks for your efforts today. Thanks for what lies ahead and all the best for budget day.
