Most public service employees are eligible for:
- recreation leave — a minimum 20 working days per year accumulative (pro rata for part-time employees), plus 17.5 per cent leave loading
- sick leave —10 working days per year accumulative (pro rata for part-time employees) on full pay that can also be accessed for caring responsibilities of immediate family and household members
- long service leave —13 weeks long service leave after 10 years’ continuous service, with pro rata access after 7 years continuous service
- other leave — parental leave, leave on compassionate grounds, domestic and family violence leave, and special leave for emergency situations.
Some agencies also offer incentives to support employees who choose to work in rural and remote Queensland communities.
