About BCM

The building construction and maintenance (BCM) category includes:

• new infrastructure, such as construction of schools, hospitals, government buildings and housing
• maintenance of existing infrastructure.

The BCM category spend was approximately $5.73 billion for the 2024–25 financial year.

This comprises:

• building contractors
• trade contractors
• specialist services
• property and real estate services
• materials and equipment
• building operations.
