Procurement and contract management training programs – Skills2Procure
Skills2Procure provides access to learning and development programs aimed at staff working in procurement and contract management roles across Queensland Government.
Skills2Procure is managed by Queensland Government Procurement and offers courses aimed at all skill levels, from beginners looking for awareness training, through to advanced practitioners seeking to further increase their depth of expertise.
While the programs are designed to cater for individual participants, some programs also accommodate group bookings.
Some awareness and foundational skills offerings, including eLearning, and the Community of Practice, are available at no cost to participants. Other training programs incur a cost which will require approval from your agency to attend.
Who can participate
Skills2Procure training and development programs are available to all public sector staff undertaking procurement or contract management-related roles and tasks, including:
- procurement staff
- contract management staff
- staff who contribute to a procurement or contract management role
- subject matter experts contributing to
- requirements or specification documents to take to the market
- tender evaluation and award processes
- staff exercising relevant delegations in the business
- agency executives seeking to optimally leverage the opportunities to deliver on government policy through their procurement function.

- Gartner: If your agency has a Gartner membership, you can access Gartner’s globally recognised research and insights. Check with your central procurement or HR area to see if your agency has a Gartner membership.
- Queensland Treasury Corporation Education Program is delivered in collaboration with the University of Queensland and offers

- custom courses – delivered anywhere in Queensland
- strategic programs to upskill your workforce.
- Procurement-specific eLearning courses: Queensland Government Procurement offers four short eLearning courses designed to build awareness and foundational knowledge in procurement and contract management
- Procurement Basics
- Introduction to Social Procurement Basics
- Introduction to Contract Management Basics
- Queensland Procurement Policy Awareness.
How to access
Queensland Government employees should first search their agency’s internal Learning Management System (LMS) for these courses.
If the courses are not available in your agency’s LMS, contact your agency’s learning or capability team.
Your agency learning or capability team, LMS or IT administrators can email Skills2Procure at skills2procure@hpw.qld.gov.au to request the SCORM files needed to make these courses available through their agency’s LMS.
Community of practice events
- Available to procurement and contract management staff across all agencies
- Three events per calendar year
- No cost to participant
