Update from the Special Coordinator of Police and Emergency Services Reform

On Friday 23 February 2024, it was announced that Mr Stephan Gollschewski, who currently serves as the Special Coordinator of Police and Emergency Services Reform, will be appointed as the Interim Acting Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service.

Interim Acting Commissioner Gollschewski spoke about the improvements in disaster and emergency management reforms during his address. He highlighted the plans of both State Emergency Service (SES) and Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) to better equip the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in dealing with emergencies and disasters. By working together, the QPS will be better prepared to handle any such situations that may arise.
