QFES - Disaster Management staff thanked before transition to QPS

On Tuesday 17 October the Minister for Police and Corrective Services and Minister for Fire and Emergency Services the Honourable Mark Ryan along with executive leaders from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Commissioner Leach, Acting Deputy Commissioner Greenfield, Acting Deputy Commissioner Wassing  and Acting Deputy Commissioner  Ben Marcus from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) held a thank you event for Disaster Management staff transitioning from QFES to QPS.

The event thanked all Disaster Management staff for their contribution and efforts in supporting disaster and emergency management and saw members presented with certificates of appreciation from QFES.

49 Disaster Management staff will transition from QFES to QPS on 30 October and join the newly formed Emergency Management and Coordination Command within the QPS.

This transition is taking place as part of the Disaster and Emergency Management Reforms currently underway and being facilitated by the Reform Implementation Taskforce.
