'QGov' Customer Identity Management transition

Leading agency: Transport and Main Roads

Start date: January 2024

End date: December 2024

About the project

The QGov Customer Identity Management (CIDM) transition is planning to migrate existing data to the Queensland Digital Identity (QDI), as the QGov Customer Identity Management system comes to its end of life.

The QGOV/CIDM solution was initially designed to meet contemporary needs, and has served Queensland for a decade. As CIDM approaches the end of support in 2024, it will be decommissioned. Extensive work is currently being undertaken to prepare and support agencies through this transition.

The introduction of the Queensland Digital Identity in late-2023 by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, marked a pivotal advancement in the evolution of digital services provided to Queenslanders. The Queensland Digital Identity, integrated into the Queensland Digital Licence app, offers a contemporary platform for identity verification processes, empowering citizens and streamlining their interactions with government agencies.

The core focus of this transition is migrating existing Customer Identity Management customers to the Queensland Digital Identity platform. Our objective is to support stakeholders and customers throughout this transition, ensuring seamless service delivery without interruptions.

Key points:

  • The Queensland Digital Identity offers a contemporary platform for digital services, enhancing confidence in identity verification.
  • Customer Identity Management, in service for 10 years, will be decommissioned as it nears the end of support in 2024.
  • The migration to Queensland Digital Identity aims to provide a unified solution meeting current and future needs.
  • Stakeholder support is prioritised to facilitate a smooth transition process.
