Our Digital Licence app has been celebrated as a game-changer in inclusive technology, winning multiple accolades at the 2025 Australian Access Awards.
The app won 2 categories: the prestigious Accessible App of the Year and Government App of the Year awards. These achievements highlight our commitment to making inclusivity a cornerstone of app design for our end user.
We collaborated with organisations including Queensland Disability Network and Vision Australia to ensure the app met the diverse needs of all users, including senior Queenslanders and people with limited literacy.
The Digital Licence app provides a seamless, user-friendly experience for everyone, as a result of extensive user testing and adopting accessibility standards.
Designing for inclusivity at every level, the app proves that accessibility is not just an add-on but a fundamental design principle.
Key accessibility features of the Digital Licence app include:
- Assistive technology compatibility: Works with screen readers, voice control, and gesture alternatives
- Cross-platform functionality: Compatible with current and past operating systems
- Text alternatives: Supports screen readers VoiceOver and TalkBack
- Visual and auditory accessibility: High-contrast visuals, clear layouts, and consistent colour schemes
- Seizure safety: Static visuals, no flashing or strobing elements
- Content presentation: Multiple formats compatible with assistive tools
- Error prevention: Uniform design reduces confusion and mistakes
- Time accessibility: Allows ample time for interaction
- Text readability: Plain language instructions ensure prompts are easy to understand
- Predictable design: Consistent iconography, colours, and typography reduce cognitive load
- Navigation: Intuitive interface for easy access to licences, settings, and sharing features
