Digital graduates for agencies

For Queensland Government to be leaders in agile and innovative digital solutions for Queenslanders, we need digital skills in analytics, design, user experience, security, programming, and system evaluation.

You need to ensure your team has the right skills to meet current and future workforce needs. The Digital Graduate Program can build your team’s capability and knowledge to support digital shifts.

All Queensland Government departments are invited to participate.

Read on to help you decide whether to express interest in recruiting from the 2024 cohort.

Recruiting a graduate

For a one-off fee of $6,000 + GST per graduate, this award-winning program (ranked 54 in the Australian Association of Graduate Employers AAGE 2023 Top 75 most popular Graduate Employers of Australia) offers complete program administration including assessing high-calibre candidates, training, and ongoing support.

Successful graduates are appointed by you at an AO3 level (or equivalent) on a 2-year temporary contract. We have a wide variety of graduate roles to choose from.

Graduate support

We provide each graduate with support, networking opportunities and professional development to give them the tools and confidence to bridge the transition from graduate to ICT or digital professional and leader.

The Digital Graduate Program provides graduates with an opportunity to enter a leadership program and jumpstart their careers. We retain 87% of participants who establish their careers in the sector, filling critical roles that are usually hard to fill and retain.

You will be assured of:

  • a professionally managed and cutting-edge recruitment process
  • initial screening of candidates
  • a nationally recognised leadership development program
  • ongoing program administration and support for agencies and graduates
  • continuous improvement of the program based on feedback from departments.

Agency feedback

Former employers of digital graduates relate their impressions of the program:

“We found it difficult to lure and maintain suitably experienced professionals, so, we looked to the graduate program as one of our strategies, to build and sustain capability through young professionals who would bring passion, new ideas, and enthusiasm to learn and progress our cyber security capability”

Rick Nutt

"Our first experience with the program has been positive, and it also saw the first IT graduate from the program inducted into the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel”.

Brett Allen

“In terms of what our graduate (Luke) has offered to the team, he is a gold mine quite frankly – his attitude, personality and skills are excellent”.

Gavin Atkinson
