The Community Recovery Ready Reserve is a group of government employee volunteers that assist with disaster recovery. Volunteers are sent into a disaster area once emergency responders have declared it safe and suitable for recovery operations to begin.
Volunteers focus on human and social recovery. They:
- provide people with information
- connect people with support services
- take applications from eligible householders for financial assistance grants.
To become a Ready Reserve volunteer, you must gain manager approval, complete the registration process, and undertake a mandatory online learning program.
