The Public Service Commission has launched the Competency compass, a free online tool to support Queensland public sector employees to steer their professional development in the right direction.
Developed in partnership with Hudson (co-creators of LEAD4QLD), the Competency compass is aligned to the Leadership competencies for Queensland. It guides employees through a series of self-reflection exercises to understand their preferences and priority areas when it comes to leadership knowledge, skills and behaviours.
The compass takes around 10 minutes and produces a personal profile report. Employees can use this information to guide conversations with supervisors, and to explore the Leadership and learning hub for resources and development opportunities connected to the competencies.
Feedback is being sought from early users in a short survey to further refine the tool. So give the Competency compass a try today, and see where it steers your career!
