About

Transgender Awareness Week is a week when transgender people and their allies take action to increase positive visibility of trans people and their contributions at work and in the community, and to address issues of prejudice and discrimination.

On November 20, the week is closed out with Transgender Day of Remembrance – a solemn day, during which those who have lost their lives to transphobic violence and discrimination are honoured and remembered.

Show you are an ally. Wear a rainbow to show your support and increase awareness. Find out more about trans inclusion or consider participating in a vigil to show your support. The Queensland Human Rights Commission publication Trans@work is also a great source of information.
