About

On May 17, 1990 the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) celebrates LGBTIQ+ people globally, and raises awareness for the work still needed.

The Queensland Public Sector LGBTIQ+ Steering Committee hosts an in-person and online event in recognition of IDAHOBIT.

Queensland Government employees can consider ways to raise awareness in their agencies through supporting IDAHOBIT, becoming an LGBTIQ+ ally or thinking about other ways to show that all people are welcome, supported and safe in our workplaces.

Visit www.idahobit.org.au for inspiration and resources to help you raise awareness and celebrate at work, including how to set up a great event – rainbow morning tea, online trivia night or engage a guest speaker.

For information on how Queensland Government employees can get participate in the IDAHOBIT annual event, subscribe to the Queensland Public Sector LGBTIQ+ and Ally Employee Network.

We support employees. #BeYou
