Description of change

Strengthened the existing commitment to prioritise Buy Queensland first for all food and beverage procurement (not only for events and corporate functions). Government buyers are referred to the Queensland Government Food and Beverage Supplier Directory to help identify potential suppliers. These changes ensure the existing commitment in the QPP is keeping pace with current practice and more closely reflects the Buy Queensland approach.

Agencies will collect procurement-related data and information, and provide it to the Office of the Chief Advisor – Procurement in accordance with the whole-of-government procurement reporting framework, endorsed by the Queensland Government Procurement Committee.

Applies to: Budget sector agencies, large statutory bodies and government-owned corporations.

Description of change

Amended requirement to require budget sector agencies, large statutory bodies and government-owned corporations to collect procurement-related data and information, and provide it to the Office of the Chief Advisor - Procurement in accordance with the revised whole-of-government procurement reporting framework (currently under development) to be endorsed by the Queensland Government Procurement Committee. This change is reflective of current reporting practices related to Queensland Government procurement.

Note: Reporting requirements do not currently apply to large statutory bodies and government-owned corporations. Future roll-out of reporting requirements will occur following consultation with those sectors.

Administration

The application of best practice principles in clause 1.1 took effect from 8 May 2018. The application of the Ethical Supplier Mandate in clause 2.2, and the Ethical Supplier Threshold in clause 2.3, take effect from 1 August 2019. The remainder of the Queensland Procurement Policy 2018 took effect from 1 June 2018. This version of the policy replaces the Queensland Procurement Policy 2018.
