Parliamentary education and training
The Parliamentary education and training full-day seminar looks at the relationship between the Parliament and the Executive, and the roles and responsibilities of public servants within government and parliamentary processes. We'll look at the:
- legislative, scrutiny and financial functions of Parliament
- roles of Members of Parliament and their interaction with the public service
- public service's responsibilities in relation to the processes and practices of Parliament
- parliamentary committee system and what to expect if you're called to give evidence before one of these committees.
Keynote speakers will include Members of Parliament, the Clerk of the Queensland Parliament, Neil Laurie, and senior parliamentary and government officers.
