About
The Committees@work half-day seminar looks at the reform and modernisation of Queensland's parliamentary committee system and how it impacts public sector officers.
We'll look at the:
- structure and purpose of the new portfolio-based committees
- committee inquiry process
- role of public servants in providing information to parliamentary committees.
Public servants are increasingly being asked to appear before and provide evidence to parliamentary committees as part of committee examinations of Bills. For example, in 2018, more than 446 public servants appeared before parliamentary committees.
