Module 2: Checkpoint 8—Site map
The site map should, at a minimum, provide links to the main areas of the website.
Benefits of conformance
- Site maps act as a navigational aid by providing an overview of the site's areas in a single glance.
- Site maps may improve search engine optimisation of a site by ensuring that all the pages can be found.
Risks of non-conformance
- Does not provide users with a full overview of the site structure.
- Does not provide users with key information access points.
Agencies may choose to use a fat footer as the site map.
