Talent Now is the Queensland Government’s internal talent mobility solution that helps employees to find their next development opportunity across the sector, and managers to find the right talent for their teams.

Talent Now enables the sector to:
- find and connect with talent quickly
- provide access to development opportunities for our people by learning through experience
- find employees with skills needed, enabling them to share their expertise, collaborate on a project or join a team on secondment.
Having visibility of internal talent and being able to quickly access and mobilise skilled people is essential for a future-focused, and agile sector. Talent Now is a strategic imperative identified in the sector’s 10 year human capital outlook.
Who can use Talent Now?
All Queensland public sector employees can register and use Talent Now. We encourage employees from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences to create a profile.
To be able to search, managers need to request access through their agency's Talent Now expert.

Talent Now opportunities board
Managers can use the Talent Now opportunities board (for government employees only) to advertise short-term opportunities that are available to employees across the sector. This may be for a development, project or collaboration opportunity, or an invitation to apply for a role in their team.
Employees can also use the opportunities board to apply for opportunities. If you have a Talent Now profile you just need to click on the job and register your interest—no application is required.
We recommend all employees and managers who are registered with Talent Now to add the opportunities board to their 'favourites' so its easy to find later.

Does Talent Now replace the standard recruitment process?
No. Talent Now provides another way to recruit current employees for development opportunities (up to 12 months). Managers can search Talent Now to find and match employees before selecting and appointing as normal. Managers can also choose to post a job to the Talent Now opportunities board (for government employees only)—visible to all employees across the sector.
Permanent and temporary roles greater than 12 months must be advertised on SmartJobs. In these cases, you can use Talent Now to point suitable candidates towards your SmartJobs ad. Some agencies have additional requirements with regards to advertising so best to check with your local HR advisor.
Agencies can use the communication toolkit to promote Talent Now to employees and managers.
